On October 4, 1975 my mom’s youngest sister got married. See that little chubby-faced flower girl in the photos below? Yep, that’s me. Flower girl at the age of 2.
Fast forward 40 years and my aunt and uncle have three grown daughters of their own, three sons-in-law, and three grandchildren. I honestly don’t know the last time their entire group had family photos taken (other than during the girls’ weddings) but I’m sure it’s been a long time. I know photos can be stressful. Trust me, I know. I may be behind the camera a lot but there are times when I’m on the other side, just like you. What we need to remember (myself included!) is that memories of our lives remain strong and colourful with the aid of photography and going along with whatever happens is how it should be.
Get close. Chat, laugh, connect. Think about how blessed you are to have all of your family members together, and how that short time in front of my lens will last for years on your mantle.
Many thanks to this entire group for gathering together on a very warm, late summer morning. The looks, laughter and expressions in these images are how myself, and I’m sure the rest of our family and friends, see you, and that’s a good thing. Enjoy!
