I met sweet little Ashley and her family on a cloudy Sunday afternoon; Father’s Day to be exact :) We knew the weather was going to be “iffy” but we also knew that we wanted to take advantage of the small window of opening in our schedules. And I’m glad we did! Even with the little bits of drizzle, Ashley, her sister, mom, dad and even Ashley’s grandparents snuggled tight and had a few minutes of memory-capturing fun.
Ashley is a fighter and when I took these photos, she was about to embark on another round of cancer treatment. I’ve been thinking about her and her family… hoping they are all continuing to move forward and that treatment is going well. Thank you so much for being open and willing to share your little girl, your family and your story. Strength and support, especially in numbers, will take you far.
The Smiling Eyes Project is a non-profit group of professional photographers offering complimentary photo shoots to those facing cancers’ fight or victory. To find out more about the Smiling Eyes project, please visit the website.
