In July of 2011, I travelled to London, UK for a few days to visit my sister. When I was there I decided it would be a great time to challenge myself with night photography because it’s not something I usually do. Walking along the Southbank at 10:30pm, in the summer, is definitely a sight to behold. Your senses come alive with the hustle of people in local pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues, but are also brought to a quiet halt with the simultaneous peace along the Thames.
Catching a shot of the beautifully lit Tower Bridge, without a tripod, can be tricky. But I held my camera tight, rested my elbows on a smooth ledge, adjusted my settings, held my breath and clicked. I think it turned out pretty nice.

Minimal photoshop editing: slight Levels adjustment and sharpen for web. Here’s the image SOOC (Straight Out of the Camera).

What have you challenged yourself with lately?
