Cleaning windows, washing drapes, pulling out furniture and vacuuming crevices and corners is a springtime tradition in many households. But a photographer’s spring cleaning mostly happens in the wintertime. Session bookings are a little more spaced out and there’s time, better yet there’s energy, to re-focus the business, sort files (digital and paper) and welcome any changes to be born in the upcoming year. Slowly but surely, my personal digital files are getting in order. My paper files are finding a better home and my outlook on a photographic direction is taking shape. It’s not an easy process. It’s not a quick process. And by all accounts, it’s not a race.
Things can only get better from here so I’ll keep looking up and smile. Because as Mr. Sinatra says… the best is yet to come.
